Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid discovered in 1940. It is one of 113 identified cannabinoids in cannabis plants and accounts for up to 40% of the plant's extract. In 2018, clinical research on cannabidiol included preliminary studies of anxiety, cognition, movement disorders, and pain.

Cannabidiol can be taken into the body in multiple ways, including by inhalation of cannabis smoke or vapor, as an aerosol spray into the cheek, and by mouth. It may be supplied as CBD oil containing only CBD as the active ingredient (no included tetrahydrocannabinol [THC] or terpenes), a full-plant CBD-dominant hemp extract oil, capsules, dried cannabis, or as a prescription liquid solution. CBD does not have the same psychoactivity as THC, and may change the effects of THC on the body if both are present. As of 2018, the mechanism of action for its biological effects has not been determined.

In the United States, the cannabidiol drug Epidiolex was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2018 for the treatment of two epilepsy disorders. But most other hemp derived CBD formulations remain over-the-counter and marked not for medical use. Most CBD is meant to be used as an ingredient in foods or dietary supplements.

Why CBD from Hemp?

Hemp and Marijuana both fall under the classification of “Cannabis” and are very much the same except for one huge contributing factor, THC. While Hemp and Marijuana produce the exact same Cannabinoid (CBD) molecules, Hemp produces only trace amounts of THC... amounts that are so low that even if you consumed an entire tub of CBD derived from Hemp you would not get “high” at all.

So what does this all mean? It means that when we derive CBD from the Hemp plant we are getting the same exact CBD that you’d get from the Marijuana plant you hear “buzzing” in the news, and it also means you are getting high concentrations of CBD oil with only trace amounts of THC…well within the legal limit, and legal in all 50 states!

You’ve heard about CBD…But did you know it’s your Endocannabinoid System that makes it work?

We all know how Vitamin C works… and, it’s well known that Vitamin C can help boost the immune system to help your body naturally fight off colds and related ailments... Well, CBD is being shown to work in a similar fashion but proving to be many times more powerful. The main reason for this is that while Vitamin C doesn’t necessarily have a “system” of receptors throughout your body, CBD does!

In pursuing a CBD therapy regimen you first need to understand your Endogenous Cannabinoid System, or Endocanabinoid System; this is a part of your normal daily bodily function. Your Endocannabinoid System is comprised of receptors all throughout the body, from the tip of your head to your toes. Your Endocannabinoid system promotes homeostasis (balance and stability in the body), through the signaling processes between cells, and CBD is a proven aid in this process… in fact, it’s the main source of fuel for your Endocannabinoid system!

If you have deficiencies in your Endocannabinoid system, and many do, problems can arise within the complex confluence of systems that is the human body and it can cause interruptions or breakdowns, that we call symptoms, conditions or ailments.
